Bright Winter Day in Mendocino - Quilt Note Card 502
Bright Winter Day in Mendocino - Quilt Note Card 502

Bright Winter Day in Mendocino  ©  1985-2003  Vicki L. Johnson

In 1988 the quilt won a first place at the American Quilter's Society show. It has appeared in many books and magazines including New Wave Quilters II. Mendocino is a resort town on the northern California coast where I lived for eight years. The bright winter light flooding down onto the coastal California town of Mendocino is shown in this unusual quilt. The sky is pieced and appliquéd in traditional quilting techniques and the town is created with the innovative techniques of fabric painting and soft-edge machine applique.

Each card has a photograph of one of the quilts glued onto the front. These note cards are on a heavy paper and have a decal edge. The envelope paper matches the card stock. They are protected inside a clear plastic envelope so you can display them without damage. On the front Vicki L. Johnson has personally signed each card and identified the quilt on the back. Your own message can be written inside. The cards are 5 1/8” x 7”. You can purchase them individually using the code in the quilt gallery. Packs of 6 can also be purchased for a small discount per card, and themed sets are available.
