Many people long to live close to the natural world. This Soquel California farmhouse would fulfill that dream for many. When I chose fabrics for a quilt like this one, I try to be as realistic as I can. The Calla lilies were cut from a print and applied with a technique I call Broderie Perse Updated. The rest of the quilt was painted with fabric paints. In this quilt, I have tried to capture the beauty of a spring day at The Farm. This Soquel landmark was filled with flowers when it was a favorite restaurant. The landscape is hand-painted with soft-edge applique building and flowers.
